The Seder is a traditional Jewish ritual meal that commemorates the exodus -the story of God’s deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. As Christians, we may celebrate a Christ-centered Seder on Maundy Thursday to remember that Jesus shared this very meal with his disciples at the Last Supper where He shared the New Covenant. In the meal we recognize Jesus as the fulfillment of the Passover Lamb and reflect on His sacrifice that brings us deliverance from sin and death. The Seder reminds us of God’s faithfulness in the past and His redemption through Christ.
